A New Story Idea

Hey! So I'm trying to write a story, and I'm working on some ideas. Here's a one-sentence summary of my story:

"A 15-year old girl, who abandoned her old life years ago, has to come to amends with her past in order to find out where she truly belongs."

Cool, huh? Here's a paragraph summary, though I'm bound to alter it later:

"Sylvia Hastings has abandoned her old life years ago. She no longer wants to be special; instead she has worked hard to start a new, ordinary life that she longs to keep. But she finds that no matter how hard she tries, the ties to her old life refuse to be severed. In the face of a crisis, she is left no choice than to return to the world she hates in order to save herself and everyone she cares for."

I think it's pretty good. Still working on the plot, but eh, I think it's great. At least, for an amateur writer like me. Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Welcome!

Darkness. That's the first thing she thought off as she entered the room. She crossed the room to open the window, letting in a stream of moonlight to enhance her vision. She could make out the shapes of cardboard boxes covered in a layer of dust. Carefully, she made her way over to one of them and began to search, moving quickly, constantly checking over her shoulder for any sign of being caught. Just as her hands found what she was looking for, she heard a noise down the hall. Slipping the object into her pocket, she turned and scrambled onto the window sill. Her heart began to race as she looked down and was greeted with a dizzying headache when she realized how far up she was. She looked back into the room, contemplating whether she should risk it or not. But she heard footsteps come to a stop just outside the door. As the knob turned, she made up her mind. She took a deep breath, and jumped.

Oh, hi! I didn't see you there! Welcome to Extra Snippets! This is a blog where I'll post snippets on random stuff that come to my head, whenever I feel like it. I might be posting snippets of a story, like the one above, but they won't necessarily be part of a bigger story with an original plot. Most likely, they'll be just random short snippets that I've come up with on the spot. We'll just have to wait and see.
